“If you’re going through hell, keep going.” – Winston Churchill

I was going to write and upload my blog post tonight. However, I will not be uploading anything fashion related out of respect for the people that were attacked at Westminster, London this afternoon.

It absolutely breaks my heart that I am witnessing this event. I will never understand how someones soul could be black enough to take the lives of innocent people. I will never understand how someone can be brainwashed by extremism. I will never understand how someone could intentionally cause heartbreak and harm to those around them… I simply do not understand.

All my friends and family know how extremely patriotic I am and how proud I am for being a UK citizen. My time living in New York made me realise how much I love my country. Although I may not agree or like what England stands for in the present, I am extremely proud of everything we stood for and accomplished in the past. The United Kingdom has more history for a tiny island than the masses such as the United States will ever have.
The British Empire has grown and succeeded over the past couple of centuries with great leaders such as Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Victoria, George V, George VI and of course Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen has done so much good for this country during her reign, she’s shown power, courage, honour and heart.

We should be extremely priveliged that we live in such a democratic country. Whether we believe decisions such as Brexit is right or wrong, the fact that we have been able to exercise our vote is so important and this is in thanks to English people willing to fight for what’s right.

We unite when the times are good and we unite when the times are bad and because of this we have come out on top after wars such as WWI and WWII. I am extremely honoured to say that I was born and raised in such a magnificent country. Like the great Winston Churchill once said, “If you’re going through hell, keep going!”

My heart goes out to all of those involved in today’s terror attack and I am extremely sorry to the families of those who have lost their loved ones.

Stay strong and stay proud.
